Update From Miss Pearl! **ADOPTED**

Hi fellow Westie friends! Pearl here! Happy Friday to you! Well, actually, every day is a happy day for me! I wanted to tell you about my new life and fabulous family! They spoil me rotten, and I LOVE IT! Can you say spa days, hair days, dress up and relaxing weekends at the lake house? Not to mention my golf cart rides…

I’ve had to teach my family a thing or two about fishing, which includes not getting wet or dirty, and they seem to be getting the hang of it. After fishing and play-chasing the rabbits (I really only want to play!), I cozy up and take a nap anywhere I want. I’m truly one blessed little girl!

XOXO ❤

****Huck has been ADOPTED into his FUR-EVER HOME!****

Huck’s Happy New life:

Well folks today was a great day in the life of this Huckleberry Finn (aka Huck)! I am no longer a wanderer thanks to the LSWR rescue program & my foster family! I had two Westie brothers to show me the ropes of living in a home, getting healthy & what a loving family means to those of us living on the streets.

And life got better than imagined when my new parents wrote to LSWR & said they wanted ME to join their family! Now I have two awesome parents & two fur-sisters! I will have many new adventures and a wonderful new life! Just look at all of us…Happy 2016 to ME!!!

xoxo Huck

Huck Capture Huck Capture1

My name is Huck and I am a 10 year old neutered male Westie.  Animal Control found me wandering the streets and took me to the shelter and while I waited patiently, my owners never came for me.  My heart was broken but then an LSWR volunteer came for me immediately and brought me home.

I am an easy-going happy guy. I came in on the thin side but have gained some weight.   I am very friendly and love my foster parents and other dogs. I am potty trained and very well mannered.   I must admit, I’m quite a perfect gentleman.  I’m neutered, current on my shots and microchipped.   A lovely home with a yard and some furry doggie friends would be “pawsitively” awesome!

I am just about the cutest and sweetest guy you could ever hope to meet. All I need is a new forever home to make my new life complete.

So if you think you are my special family, complete an online application and ask for me.

XOXO Huck

Kirby **ADOPTED**

PicMonkey Collage  IMG_0063

Hello, my name is Kirby!  I am an adorable 6-7 year old Terrier so let me tell you a little bit about me.

I came from a local shelter scared and alone, as I had been wandering the streets.  My time was running out until LSWR rallied to save me.  Next, I find myself being examined by the dogtor and off I go to my foster home.

I am a very calm sweet boy and quiet too, not too much barking on my part only when my foster family gets home and I’m happy and anxious to see them.  Other than that, I don’t make a peep.  I love laying on big pillow beds and watch the world go by.  I came in really thin but I’m a fantastic eater, inhaling my food and I don’t miss any meals!  I filled out quite nicely.  Oh and my ears, well, they don’t work together.  I never have both up at the same time – it’s always one at a time but it’s really cute though.  I have great potty manners, I go right out the back door, hit the grass and potty so I would say I’m 100% potty trained.  I’m vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.  My teeth were in pretty bad shape so I had a dental a few weeks ago and had some teeth extracted but I’m doing great now.

I sleep in a crate at night and really like my comfy bed, only require a fluffy, comfy pillow! When it’s time to go to bed at night, I am usually on a pillow in the family room – I look up at my foster mom and dad basically saying “I’m fine here”.

I’m going to make a super wonderful companion and thanks to my wonderful foster family, I am I just beginning to learn how to accept / give affection.  It seems like I have not had that before but I know someone will be so lucky to have me – I am just a love!!

So please complete an online application and inquire about wonderful me!

XOXO Kirby

My name is Audry and I was a little lost soul until I arrived at LSWR.  I am a young girl approximately 3-4 years old, spayed and current on all my shots. I am a delightful little girl and I have a very sweet temperament, perfect manners and perfectly housetrained.  I walk great on a leash and enjoy car rides.  When I first came into foster care, I showed a little anxiety, but I settled in quickly.  My foster family is working on getting some meat on my bones as I am very thin, but I am a very good eater.  I get along great with my Westie foster buddy and I am learning to trust my human foster family.  I know it’s the holiday season but I believe in the magic of Christmas and know that Santa and everyone at LSWR is looking out for me.

I may not be all Westie, perhaps a Cairn/Schnauzer sprinkled by a Wesite mix, but I have so much love to give and I will make someone a perfect companion.  Just look at my pictures and check out my video on youTube.  I know I’m going to have my very own family very soon.

Hello folks, I’m Precious, a 10 year old adorable Westie girl!!  I am the new kid on the block and although I should be crushed because my prior owner no longer wanted me,  I am smiling because LSWR is going to find me a great new home!

I am in the process of being vetted and will have a dental and will be spayed in the near future.  So stay tune to follow my progress as LSWR learns about me.  I know I’ll be ready for my new home very soon.

2015-08-15 14.28.16 2015-08-27 09.22.37 2015-08-27 09.23.57

My name is Billy and I’m a transplant to the Dallas area from Austin. I know I don’t look like a typical Westie, but I am pretty spunky. My foster mom says I’m a good boy and I get along with the other fur kids in the house. I like toys, clothes (not to wear: drag around the house), the other fur kids beds, my humans and the other fur kids. I’m 10 months old, but I settle down quick when it’s time to relax.

If you think you can handle all this cuteness, please complete an application!!

Louise **ADOPTED**

Louise FullSizeRender - 3Louise FullSizeRenderLouise1FullSizeRender (10)

Hi…I’m Louise, Thelma’s sister, but my pals call me Wheezy.  I am 2 years old and brand new to LSWR. I am gaining my confidence more and more and love to be with people.

Like Thelma, I am also a talker – especially at feeding time. I am a tiny little girl, weighing in at 10-11 pounds.  I should be training for the Olympic trials because I am a great jumper.  I can clear 3 1/2 feet easily whenever I want to.

I am the calmer one of the two, but I like more activity than Thelma. I don’t play with toys much but I do like to busy. And boy, I love the great outdoors!! I am spayed, current on my shots and microchipped and get along great with other dogs, so what’s not to love about me?

I am learning many new things but sometimes I get startled by new situations.  I am looking forward to my new family, a calm quiet environment works just fine.  I will make a wonderful super dog companion for the right family!!

XOXO Wheezy

Thelma **ADOPTED**

Tabby FullSizeRenderTabby 1FullSizeRender - 5Tabby FullSizeRender - 3

Hello, my name is Thelma, but my friends call me Tabby.  I am a young Cairn terrier mix who recently joined LSWR. My prior owner could no longer care for me and I was taken to a high kill shelter but thankful LSWR came to my aid.

I am quite the talker, very low energy and 2 years young. In fact my goal in life is to be a beautiful couch cushion accessory. I don’t play with toys much but I sure do love to be with people. I need some hugs early in the morning and when you return home from work. I’m close to mastering the potty training skills.  I am spayed, current on my shots and microchipped.  I get along great with other dogs. So I’m ready to meet my new family any day now. I would do great in any quiet household that is looking for a cutie companion like me. I am okay with children 8 years of age or older.

Come on, submit that online application and ask for me, you’ll be glad you did.

Bella’s Happy Tail

I’ve come a long way in just over two weeks since I arrived in foster care but it looks like “everything’s coming up roses” for me.  I was adopted by Kay and she is positively the most perfect Mom in the whole world.  She will be patient and understanding & I love that she loves me just the way I am.  I am finally home.

Happy & Thankful, Bella

Ellie **ADOPTED**

Ellie1groomed Ellie2groomed

My name is Ellie!  I am a very young and healthy puppy, estimated to be about 12 months old.  I’m spayed, microchipped and current on all my shots.  I was found wandering the city streets and picked up by a shelter.  I am a very sweet cutie patootie, love my human foster mom and Dad, especially following my foster mom around the house.

When I first came into foster care I had a strong desire to be the alpha of the pack and I needed some training to polish up my puppy manners.  I had to fend for myself and my little brother Billie when we were strays, but all that is behind me now.  I get along great with my 2 Westie foster buddies, and boy can we play and play non-stop.

I am looking for a loving family who I can shower with love and kisses.  I am just that kinda girl.  I would probably do okay with older kids and a furry doggie friend is fine by me.  If you have the time and patience for me, I promise to be your best girl friend and fill your heart with love and laughter.  So hurry and complete the online application.  I know I will steal your heart.

My name is Bella and I am approximately 1 year old. I am a tiny little girl weighing in at 13 pounds and would not have lasted very long out on the streets. A shelter picked me up and thank goodness, LSWR came to get me.  I was very scared at the shelter but the staff at my vets said I was so good letting them examine me and all.  My doctor said, I probably have never known human touch and my foster mom would agree.  I’m in my foster home now and when my foster mom walks into the room, I run to a corner or run for cover.  So it’s going to take a little time for me you see, but despite it all, I am making progress.  I’m beginning to follow my foster mom around some now.  I have never walked on a leash so I have so many things to learn but I’m getting the hang of it.

I am spayed, microchipped and vaccinated so I am ready for my very new beginning and new life.

Look out everybody, Princess Bella is in the house and looking for her perfect family!!   If you have the love and patience I will require, please visit lswr.us and complete an online application.  I know I will steal your heart.

Adopted !! Buddy

Buddy FBIMG_3166  IMG_3147

Meet Buddy, our newest rescue. Buddy’s father fell ill and was unable to take care of him. LSWR was asked to help out and we were glad to take him in to our rescue.  A senior gentleman, (13 years young), Buddy is a wonderful, loving Westie. Although he has skin issues, we’ll have him healed in no time!

He’s having the time of his life in foster care playing with his foster buddies, enjoying the morning sunshine and cool breezes.  He loves the outdoors and he gets along great with other dogs.  His foster mom says he is an absolute joy!!

He needs time in foster care so we can take care of his skin issues but it won’t be long before his coat grows back!  Please check back on progress.

Capture Felix Felix 5 Felix 1My name is Felix and I am about 2 years old, neutered, microchipped and current on all my shots.  I was found wandering along the freeway and a nice family took me in.  They tried to find my family but no one ever came for me.  They have taken great care of me but their current doggie sometimes stresses me out because he is so rambunctious.

I took my life change in stride and am fitting in well with my family but they feel I would be happier in another home.  I get along great with dogs but I think I prefer a home where I’m the only dog.  I am a very handsome boy if I say so myself. I am active and strong and weigh 19 pounds.  I enjoy long walks, playing with my toys, and love treats!

I am a smart guy and have a few tricks up my sleeve.  I passed the Canine Good Citizen test and have my ribbon and certificate.   I am really sweet and love belly rubs and relaxing with my people and I even like cats.  I am totally ready for my new life.  If you are looking for a very cool dog, seriously, I am really really cool… then jump on that application and let me hear from you!!

Meet FAMOUS AMOS the Happy-Go-Lucky Westie Imposter

Capture Mars1Capture Mars2Famous Amos (2)

Amos is a very affectionate, happy-go-lucky dog. Just looking at his endearing face brings a smile. He loves to be petted and will jump up and wrap his arms around you to give hugs. And who doesn’t need a hug after a long, stressful day?

He’s an early riser, very energetic and relishes his three-mile walks in the morning. He is working on his leash manners but knows to walk on the left hand side and stays by your heel – most of the time. A few more lessons and he will have mastered the subject. He sits quietly before you serve meals loves a snooze afterwards.

Amos is house trained and very quiet – he has yet to bark! He knows the furniture is off-limits and is content to rest on one of his beds or under your desk when you’re hard at work. He loves people and while we haven’t had him in the park to play with other dogs, we think he would do very well. He’s just one of those guys who takes everything in his stride – nothing seems to ruffle him.

Endowed with superhero skills, he can leap a two-foot dog gate from a standstill and doesn’t like to be crated so he might do best in home where he’s not left alone all day and one where he doesn’t have spend time in a crate.

He is looking for an active family who will spend lots of time with him.  Just look at that face!!  He is the happiest little guy on the planet.

If you are interested in adopting this cutie , complete an Online Application in the menu tab above.

Digby’s Happy Tail!

Hi Everyone, it’s Digby here!

What a great photo with me and my new mom, Polly. My new dad Nick, had a morning military duty and couldn’t be there to pick me up. But when I got home, he spent the afternoon enjoying the back patio with me on his lap! Woo hoo, two loving people and two laps for me is a dream come true! July 4th weekend and I put the white in their “red, white and blue” weekend, and they helped me regain my independence with my very own family again! I’m one happy camper!

Thank you from the bottom of my big doggie heart to everyone who has helped me along my journey!

Happy Tails to everyone & Happy 4th to all,

Digby

Molly’s Happy Tail

Molly HT1 Molly HT2

I’ve come a long way looking for my forever home and I found it with Vickie & James. They are a Cairn savvy Mom & Dad, who wanted to give me that special home that I was looking for. I’m living it up in Colorado now and have a Westie playmate to hang with. I am doing great in my new home and wearing myself out chasing squirrels. My mom and dad say I’m such a good girl; they just can’t thank my foster family, Mary & Stephen Braddock, enough for all they did for me. I came very close to losing my life at the shelter in December 2014 due to my skin issues but look at me now. Thanks to my foster family, LSWR and all the volunteers, I’ve been given a new wonderful life.

Scruffy is looking for a furever home!!!

unnamed3Scruffy 3 unnamed unnamed2

Scruffy here; the newest addition to the LSWR group.   As you can see by my photos, I’m a good looking fella, laid back and like lots of love.  Kids and cats like me because I’m pretty chill and my foster mom says I have good barking manners.  I get very excited when it’s time to go outside, super excited when the humans come home and I do love my squeaky toys!! I’m a 6 or 7 year old male, but who’s counting.  I’ve got this great place to stay while some of my skin issues clear up, but I’m on the market for a new pad.

If you are looking for a new addition to your family, I’m looking for a forever home!

Hope to meet my new family soon!!

Hi Friends,

I’m Rowan, HAPPY to be here with LSWR.   I’m not sure how I ended up at a shelter but thanks to LSWR and my foster mom for bailing me out.

I’m estimated to be 1 – 2 years old and weigh 13 lbs.  I am a fun and active small boy with lots of energy!  When it comes to playtime, I go 90 miles an hour and then conk out for a nice nap.  I’m also quite content to sit in my foster mom’s lap when she’s in her favorite chair.

I’m housetrained, crate trained and I walk well on a leash.  When I’m on my walk, I like to take my time and smell the flowers and take in the cool crisp air.  I get along with other dogs so a playmate is fine by me.  I am ready for my new home and I know my perfect family will snatch me up very soon.

I have lots of love to give you!  Is there a place in your heart for me?

If you want me to be a part of your family, please fill out an adoption application at http://www.lswr.us

******* Adopted******* Charlie is looking for a “fur-ever” home

Charlie Untitled Charlie Untitled 2Charlie Untitled 6

Hi, I’m Charlie!

I’m a cute, white Schnauzer, around 5 years old.  I’m current on my vaccinations, neutered and microchipped, too.

Sadly, my owner’s medical needs prevented him from taking caring of me and my buddy and we were surrendered to a local shelter.  My buddy was adopted and thankfully LSWR took me in to find me a new furever home.

I’m a 14.5 lb bundle of a fun loving strong & healthy boy.  I’m smart too.  I know my name, sit and come and that’s just the beginning.  I’m potty trained, walk great on a leash and I sleep in a crate!  I like to play, run & chase birds and squirrels.  And when I hear those fire engine trucks, I mimic them.  My foster mom thinks it’s comical.  I truly enjoy the company of my foster Westies and my foster Mom & Dad.

If you need someone with a little spunk and great personality to love, I’m your guy.  Hurry and get your online adoption application in to LSWR so we can start our new life together.

XOXO

***** Adopted******* Chester is looking for a Furever Home

Chester-1Chester-2

Chester is a well rounded, happy, 1-2 year old Westie imposter.  He has a very high IQ that he doesn’t like to use when he is eating his food.  Let’s say gulping might be his worst trait.  Chester’s foster mom reports that Chester is well behaved, doesn’t bark and scream like a typical Westie, loves other dogs, tennis balls might be his favorite toy, gives random kisses, doesn’t like to sit on the furniture unless invited, and use caution when you are near the ice machine or you might get a nose bump.  Sounds like Chester might need a family with lots of energy and other dogs or maybe Chester just needs a home full of love.  Chester does have that awesome Westie trait, “love the one your with.”  Chester’s is incredibly intelligent and would fit into any situation from becoming a hunting dog to just being a lap dog.  He fits into his foster family’s home within minutes and will have no problem adjusting to a “forever” home.
